Squadron hosts BTEC training for the Wing

Cadets from across Essex Wing have demonstrated their commitment to personal and professional development by working towards a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community, delivered by Cadet Vocational College.

The training session, hosted by us in our Squadron HQ , brought together our cadets as well as cadets from 2243 (Basildon) Squadron, 276 (City of Chelmsford) Squadron, 1483 (Brentwood) Squadron, and 2476 (Hutton) Squadron. Over the course of the day, cadets worked through their BTEC workbooks, applying their experiences from the Air Cadet Organisation to demonstrate key skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

The BTEC Diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development is a nationally recognised qualification that helps cadets enhance their CVs and future career prospects. Universities, apprenticeship programmes, and employers highly value the skills developed through this qualification, as they reflect the dedication, discipline, and teamwork that cadets embody throughout their training.

This opportunity highlights the range of additional qualifications available to cadets through the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, allowing them to gain valuable accreditation alongside their practical experiences. By completing this qualification, cadets have taken an important step in preparing for their futures, whether in higher education, the workplace, or the armed forces.

A huge well done to all the cadets who took part in this fantastic achievement!
