Cadets Visit 7 AEF at RAF Cranwell for an Insight into Flying

During last week’s half-term break, cadets from our squadron were thrilled to be allocated flying slots with 7 AEF (Air Experience Flight) at RAF Cranwell. The excitement was high as the cadets eagerly anticipated a day of flying in the Grob Tutor, the aircraft used for air experience flights.

Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. Due to low cloud cover, flying was grounded for the day, disappointing the cadets who had been looking forward to their first airborne experience. However, the day was far from wasted. The dedicated staff at 7 AEF made the best of the situation by offering an exclusive ground tour of the Grob Tutor.

This unexpected opportunity gave the cadets a fascinating look into the aircraft they hope to fly in soon. They learned about the aircraft’s controls, the pre-flight checks pilots must carry out, and the various safety procedures involved. The tour also allowed them to ask questions and get a closer look at the inner workings of the Tutor.

We are grateful to the staff at 7 AEF for making the day memorable despite the weather, and we look forward to clear skies and flying opportunities in the near future!
