Some of our cadets enjoyed the summer sun last Sunday as our trainee Sports Leaders, Cpls Irons, Fulcher and Mayooran, led a rounders session. A former Captain in both the Royal Logistics Corps and the Royal Tank Regiment, Sean served in the British Army from 2008, including a deployment to Afghanistan on Operation Herrick 13, where he was part of an ISTAR detachment with 16 Air Assault Brigade.…

Another weekend, another fantastic volunteering opportunity for our cadets! On Sunday, we supported the incredible participants of HARP 24, cheering them on as they completed the final laps of their challenging 24-hour run. Congratulations to Sgt Herman, who proudly represented Essex Wing at the Central & East Region Inter-Wing Athletics Competition held at South Kesteven Sports Stadium in Grantham on Saturday. Sgt Herman competed in the 800 metres and delivered a fantastic performance, earning a well-deserved silver medal. Well done, Sgt!

On Wednesday evening, some of our cadets enjoyed an intro to paddle sports session on the River Chelmer. There was plenty of fun and games, and not a dry cadet by the end! The session also gave our paddle sports instructors a great opportunity to practise their coaching skills.

Over the last 3 weeks we have had our hands full giving out various awards and qualifications to our cadets, so many that we struggled to get them all in the picture! Last weekend, we held another Basic Camp at Belchamps Activity Centre for cadets who have completed the Junior Cadet Training Programme within the past year.
