On Friday evening, our Civilian Committee held its Annual General Meeting.
We were sad to say goodbye to two long-standing and highly valued members who have stepped down after many years of exceptional service: our Secretary, Kevin Allen, and our Deputy Chair, Jennifer Byford. Both have shown outstanding dedication to the Squadron, consistently going above and beyond their formal roles. Jennifer has been instrumental in organising fundraising events, even completing the Virtual London Marathon to support the Squadron, while Kevin has worked tirelessly to keep our minibuses on the road and fully roadworthy. As a token of our appreciation, both Jennifer and Kevin were presented with gifts to thank them for their dedicated service.
The AGM also saw the election of existing committee members to new positions. Shirin Khan was elected as Treasurer, and Leigh Mason was elected as secretary. Congratulations to you both.
For those who may not know, a Civilian Committee plays a vital part in every Air Cadet Squadron. They are responsible for fundraising, managing squadron finances, supporting activities, and ensuring the unit has the resources it needs to run safely and effectively. Their work directly enables the opportunities, experiences, and adventures our cadets enjoy.
