This morning, we were honoured to take part in the City Remembrance Parade at the Southend Cenotaph.
The event brought together veterans, regular forces, cadets, youth organisations, dignitaries, and members of the community, with a large crowd gathering to pay their respects despite a touch of rain.
Our Squadron Band led the parade and later the final march-past, and the rest of the Squadron looked outstanding as they formed up alongside all those taking part. The two-minute silence, marked by the chimes of Big Ben, the Last Post, and an artillery gun salute, was a particularly moving moment, followed by hymns, readings, and the laying of wreaths.
We were pleased to be joined by 1341 (Thundersley) Squadron
OC Essex Wing Wg Cdr Jones former OC Essex Wing Wg Cdr Weston and The Wing Warrant Officer WO Kemp. Thank you all for joining us
