CWO Parker Named Essex Wing’s Top Cadet and Dacre Sword Nominee

We are proud to announce that Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) Parker has been named Essex Wing’s Top Cadet and has been selected as the Wing’s nominee for the prestigious Dacre Sword Award.

He was presented with his award earlier this month at the Essex Wing Awards Evening, recognising his outstanding achievements and dedication to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

The Dacre Sword is the highest honour awarded annually to the top all-round cadet in the Air Training Corps (ATC) nationwide. Introduced in 1979 by Mrs Elizabeth Dacre in memory of her husband, Air Commodore G B Dacre, a former Commandant of the ATC, the award recognises cadets who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and contribution to their squadron, wing, and the wider Air Cadets organisation.

CWO Parker’s nomination for this prestigious award is a testament to his exemplary service, leadership, and commitment to both 1312 Squadron and the wider cadet community. Throughout his cadet career, he has excelled in a range of disciplines, including drill, aviation studies, and community engagement, while also supporting and mentoring younger cadets.

As the Wing’s Dacre Sword nominee, he will now go forward to compete at a regional level, with the potential to be considered for the national award later this year.

We are incredibly proud of CWO Parker’s achievements and wish him the very best of luck in the next stage of the selection process.
