On Sunday morning, 1312 (City of Southend-on-Sea) Squadron Air Cadets swapped their usual training for a fast-paced netball session. The event was organised to promote fitness, teamwork, and leadership, as cadets put their sporting skills to the test in this dynamic and engaging sport.
We were fortunate to have expert netball coaches on hand to guide the cadets through a series of drills and techniques. Not only did this provide valuable coaching, but it also gave some of our more experienced netball players a chance to step up and run their own skills sessions, passing on their knowledge to their peers.
After an intense training period, the cadets took part in a series of friendly but competitive matches. The games were tightly contested, with the final match going down to the wire—decided by a dramatic last-second point! It was a fantastic display of teamwork, agility, and determination from all involved.
A huge well done to everyone who participated, and special thanks to Sarah and Liv Elliot for their invaluable support and contribution to the day’s activities. Their enthusiasm and leadership made the event even more memorable.
Events like these are a reminder of the importance of staying active and working together, values we strive to instil in all our cadets.
