Squadron Band Leads Southend Armed Forces Day Parade Despite Heat

Yesterday, our Squadron Band once again had the honour of leading the Southend-on-Sea Armed Forces Day Parade through the city centre. In challenging heat, the band proudly represented the Squadron, providing a fitting musical tribute to our Armed Forces.

Due to the yellow weather warning for high temperatures, a full risk assessment was carried out by senior staff at a higher organisational level. As a result, participation unfortunately had to be limited for safety reasons, and only the Squadron Band was able to attend. We’re proud to have still been able to represent the Squadron on such an important day.

A sincere thank you goes to the The Victoria Shopping Centre for kindly providing a sheltered area where the band could rest and rehydrate between performances. Their support played a key role in enabling the band’s safe participation in the parade.
